Graphix in Li-Ion Batteries

Graphix significantly enhances Li-ion battery (LIB) performance when substituting the graphite normally found in a traditional negative electrode. Batteries that utilize Graphix can hold 2x the charge and can charge 30x faster compared to LIBs containing graphite. LIBs with Graphix are also safer because Graphix dissipates heat 10x faster than regular graphite, making Graphix batteries much less likely to overheat.

Graphix LIBs are easy on the Earth too, because they’re made in part from renewable biomass – not produced from mines or derived from oil, like most graphite is.

Graphix in Supercapacitors

Activated carbon is currently used for both electrodes in regular electric double-layer capacitors (EDLC’s), commonly known as supercapacitors.

With a capacitance of more than double that of this activated carbon used in supercapacitors, Graphix has the potential to cost-effectively transform the industry by reducing charging times and increasing energy density. In addition, because Graphix comes from renewable biomass, Graphix also brings significant environmental benefits.
